Why to hitchhike?

A short question with a multitude of possible answers – there we go :

There are no rules to it ;
You can leave whenever you want to (just pick up your backpack).
You can get wherever (there is a road).
It’s adventurous.
It’s for free (a voluntary exchange between two or more individuals).
There is no prejudice (people decide to stop and pick you up in a fraction of a second).
There is no fear.
There is human contact (Kindness of strangers).
I like to see the country through the eyes of a local.
I can learn a new language.
It’s beautifull.
There is plenty of empty seats.
Because sometimes it is just faster than public transport (Race is on!).
I feel very free doing it.
Because I like to keep my thumb muscles in order.
It’s FUN!
Because you (can) get stranded.
Because it enhances your brain activity.
Because it makes you reshape your worldview constantly.
Because it is addictive – I am a roadjunky!

Because it is simply the best way to travel!
